Frequently asked questions
Do avocados arrive ripe?
No, we send our avocados freshly picked from the tree, as they travel best when firm. Allow time for them to ripen once they arrive.
How long do they take to ripen?
That depends on the season. Around the peak in December, avocados usually take around a week to ripen from picking. See our Ripening Guide for more details.
What’s the best way to ripen avocados?
Avocados ripen best naturally at room temperature — simply pop them in your fruit bowl and let nature do its thing. Avoid windowsills or direct sunlight. To speed things up, keep them close to bananas or kiwifruit, which release natural ripening gases.
Are your avocados organic?
We used to manage our orchard entirely under organic principles, but it wasn’t sustainable long-term. We now use a biological growing approach that focuses on healthy soil and healthy trees. We carefully monitor pests so we only spray when absolutely necessary, and always choose the softest options available.
Do you send to rural addresses?
Yes, absolutely! Just make sure you select the Rural Shipping option at checkout.
Why do you dispatch once a week?
Dispatching early in the week means deliveries arrive before the weekend, keeping transit time short and your avos fresh.
What’s your return or refund policy?
We want you to love your avocados as much as we love growing them. Because they’re a fresh, perishable product, we can’t accept returns, but if your avos arrive damaged or are anything less than perfect, please get in touch so we can make it right.Send us a message through our Contact Form (or reply to your order email) with your order details and a quick photo if possible. We’ll always do our best to sort it out quickly and fairly.
